Dr. Shafiei, CEO of Atieh Pardazan Sharif Holding, Appears on Iran Emrooz TV Program

Dr. Mehdi Shafiei, CEO of Atieh Pardazan Sharif Holding, appeared on the Iran Emrooz television program to discuss the country’s energy imbalance and the future of clean energy technologies.

During the program, Dr. Shafiei explained that energy supply is currently not keeping pace with consumption and noted that global efforts are increasingly focused on improving efficiency in the electricity and natural gas sectors.

He also highlighted Iran’s strategic objectives in the petrochemical industry, stating:

“Our focus is on increasing efficiency and expanding production capacity.”

Dr. Shafiei emphasized the importance of manufacturing key components for the chlorine value chain, hydrogen production, clean fuels, and solar energy technologies. He identified hydrogen fuel as one of the most promising solutions for the future energy sector.

According to Dr. Shafiei, hydrogen offers significant environmental benefits, particularly in reducing air pollution in the transportation sector. However, he noted that the main challenges remain the complexity of hydrogen transportation and competition with low-cost natural gas.

He further explained that hydrogen is primarily produced through two methods: methane reforming and water electrolysis. Dr. Shafiei also stressed the critical role of knowledge-based companies in increasing resource recovery, improving energy efficiency, and optimizing consumption. While the original concepts behind these technologies were inspired by European and Japanese developments, he emphasized that the engineering expertise and hardware used by the company have been developed domestically.
